It was recently announced that U.S. Junior National Team member Emily Gaskins has moved to Palm Beach Gymnastics in West Palm Beach, Florida. She previously trained at Intensity Gymnastics in Margate, Florida.

Gaskins is now under the tutelage of Steve Nunno, legendary coach of 1996 Olympic Champion Shannon Miller. He has been coaching her for just two months.

“Emily has been a joy to coach,” Nunno told Full Twist. “She is hungry to learn and determined to be a great gymnast. She is a very hard worker.”

Gaskins is slated to compete in the all-around at the 2015 Secret U.S. Classic on July 25th. It will be her first competition since the 2014 P&G Championships, where she placed 6th in the all-around.

Nunno explained that Gaskins has some exciting upgrades for the summer season. “She will perform an Arabian double front to sissone on floor, a brand new bar routine, and a reworked beam routine that’s exciting to watch,” he told us.

Gymnastics fans are extremely curious to see the artistic Gaskins back in action, especially now that she is representing a new gym. Stay tuned!

Special thanks to Steve Nunno for answering our questions! We wish Emily the best of luck at the Secret Classic.

That’s pretty cool to see Steve Nunno coaching a star gymnast again! He’s the second great coach from years back that’s I’ve seen in the news lately, the other being Eduardo Iarov, the coach of Valeri Liukin. Speaking of Iarov, does anyone know the details regarding him starting his own gym in Texas last year? It would be nice to see him as an Olympic coach again!
