This weekend see’s the final trial take place for those Olympic hopefuls hoping to make the London 2012 British Olympic gymnastics team. As well as an Olympic spot at stake, National titles will also be up for grabs. Taking place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, it’s sure to be a fantastic weekend of competition. The Olympic Teams will be announced on July 4th.
Participants
We should see a nearly full British Squad from both MAG and WAG with Sam Oldham and Daniel Keatings returning from injury. Ruby Harrold twisting her ankle a couple of weeks ago, so it is unknown if she will be there. Marissa King will not be competing in this Olympic trial, she will be working with the BG Media team at this event, suggesting her shot at London in now over. Firm favourites such as Hannah Whelan, Beth Tweddle, Louis Smith, Rebecca Tunney, Becky Downie, Dan Purvis, Max Whitlock, Ruslan Panteyleymonov, Kristian Thomas will all compete.
