2012 MAG & WAG British Championships

This weekend see’s the final trial take place for those Olympic hopefuls hoping to make the London 2012 British Olympic gymnastics team. As well as an Olympic spot at stake, National titles will also be up for grabs. Taking place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, it’s sure to be a fantastic weekend of competition.  The Olympic Teams will be announced on July 4th.

Participants

We should see a nearly full British Squad from both MAG and WAG with Sam Oldham and Daniel Keatings returning from injury. Ruby Harrold twisting her ankle a couple of weeks ago, so it is unknown if she will be there. Marissa King will not be competing in this Olympic trial, she will be working with the BG  Media team at this event, suggesting her shot at London in now over. Firm favourites such as Hannah Whelan, Beth Tweddle, Louis Smith, Rebecca TunneyBecky Downie, Dan Purvis,  Max Whitlock, Ruslan Panteyleymonov, Kristian Thomas will all compete.

Schedule

Friday 22nd June  

  • Women’s Juniors 13:00-15:00
  • Men’s U16/U18 19:00- 21:30

Saturday 23rd June

  • Men’s seniors 12:00- 15:00
  • Women’s seniors 19:00-20:30

Sunday 24th June

  • Men’s masters and Women’s individual apparatus 10:30-12:10 and 14:00- 16:00

Coverage

British Gymnastics will provide some excellent coverage for this weekends competition. They are certainly following in the USAG’s footsteps and providing coverage and videos as quick as possible.The entire Championships will be covered LIVE by BGtv, from the following link. http://new.livestream.com/bgtvgymnastics.

The coverage will work on all devices including iPhones / android devices and routines will also be uploaded to YouTube as the competition unfolds. You will also be able to follow the event via their  and T. There will also be LIVE scoring from  and reports will be posted to the British Gymnastics website.
