The Romanian National Championships will be held in Onesti at the new Nadia Comaneci Sports Arena, August 26th – 28th. This will be a very exciting event, not only will we get to see where the Romanian girls are in terms of upgrades and standard but as previously posted, Juniors and Seniors from Great Britain will also compete at the event.
Romanian gymnasts who are listed as competing are some of the firm favourites such as Marian Dragulescu, Daniel Radeanu, Flavius Koczi, Sandra Izbasa, Catalina Ponor, Ana Porgras, Larisa Iordache, Amelia Racea, Raluca Haidu, Diana Chelaru, Georgiana Gheorghe, Diana Bulimar, Gabriela Dragoi, along with Daniela Andrei, Diana Trenca, Vlad Cotuna, Marius Berbexar, Cristian Bataga, Andrei Muntean, Andrei Ursache, Andrei Groza, and Ovidiu Buidoso. We haven’t seen much of the Romanian girls since Europeans, especially Ana Porgras. It will be interesting to see how she has recovered from her disasterous European Championships performance.
What will be most appealing to many gymnastics fans will be a good luck at Marian Dragulescu and Catalina Ponor, both who confirmed their return to competition earlier this year. We have seen some videos of Ponor looking in excellent form, it will be very exciting to see them both.
