Blythe from the Gymnastics Examiner came up with an excellent idea. She has asked Gymnastics bloggers from around the world to contribute their thoughts and insights to a series of questions about gymnastics and its personalities that will be posted over the next couple of days and weeks.
Today’s entry is Viktoria Komova VS Aliya Mustafina – who is the better All Around Gymnast?

Both are such strong and beautiful gymnasts but Mustafina is the better all-arounder in my mind. I think Komova will follow in her footsteps and dominate at some stage, I’m just not sure if it will happen this year when she will compete as a senior, then again as we saw from the 2010 Worlds, the Chinese really messed up on bars – anything can happen in gymnastics when you’re not expecting it!

I agree with you, Mustafina is a better all-around gymnast than Komova. I love both gymnasts, their my favorite Russian gymnasts, but Komova is way too emtional. If you look for example at the 2012 all-around final, Mustafina was thrilled with her bronze medal, while in the mean time, Komova was devestated with the silver medal.
