It was announced back in February that two time Australian Olympian Georgia Bonora was set to retire. From our post back then:

The 23 year old first represented Australia in the Olympics in Beijing in 2008. Here she placed 18th in the All Around qualification stages, advancing to the AA final along with team mate Shona Morgan. They ranked in 13th and 15th place respectively. The Australian team of Bonora, Morgan, Daria Joura, Lauren Mitchell, Olivia Vivian and Ashleigh Brennan qualified through to the team finals, claiming Austrailia’s highest ever rank in an Olympic team competition.  At the London 2012 Olympic Games the Australian’s Olympic experience was short lived as they failed to advance to the team final. Brennan and Emily Little qualified to the All Around.

Bonora has also competed at three World Championships (2006, 2009, 2010) and one Commonwealth Games (2010) which was her best international performance. Australia became the 2010 Commonwealth Team Champions while Bonora also took bronze in the All Around and silver on Bars. Nationally, she holds a whole host of titles, her best being winning the All Around title in 2010 as well as gold on Beam and Floor and silver on Bars.

Take a look at the beautiful tribute video FIG Category 1 WAG Judge Desiree Jones put together to celebrate Georgia’s esteemed career.
