The men’s all-around certainly was exciting! I thought for sure Sam Mikulak had given it away with his poor dismount off the high bar, but he had just enough of a cushion to hold off Manrique Larduet. Still, I think the gymnast most likely to have an impact on the World Championships all-around final is Jossimar Calvo, who fell off pommel horse and was a bit rough on floor before rallying on parallel bars and high bar. He’s got nice difficulty across all six events, and if he can work on his consistency and start hitting 6-for-6, I think he has a major chance to win a medal in Glasgow.
