Many of the big guns were eliminated in qualification, Berki, Ude, Sellathurai, Tommasone, leaving a relatively weaker field competing. Whitlock becomes the first male World Champion from Great Britain. Fantastic for Armenia’s Harutyun Merdinyan who has qualified to the Olympic Games also!
