Introducing Nike’s new footwear, Studio Wrap launching in spring of 2013.
As tastes change and people look for new, all-encompassing fitness programs, so too do the popular workouts of the day. With the rise of studio-style workouts — yoga and pilates, for example — the requisite shoe is evolving, with exercisers preferring a more stripped down, barefoot-like experience. (If not just flat out barefoot.)
Enter the Nike Studio Wrap, a three-part footwear system comprised of a wrap, ribbon and flat and designed to offer a better-than-barefoot experience while solving the myriad issues that accompany simply not wearing shoes. (Slipping and the hygiene of going barefoot in a studio jump immediately to mind.)
The ribbon and wrap ensure some stability and support without hindering range-of-motion at all, with a minimal sole that offers a bit of protection and maximized flexibility.
And unlike shoes, the wrap and ribbon can easily be tossed in the wash with the accompanying mesh storage bag, ensuring easy cleaning and portability.
Studio wraps will retail at $110.
