Worlds 2011: Sandra Izbasa out

The All Around Gymnastics News, The Couch Gymnast and Fan Gymnastics have all reported the unfortunate news this morning that Sandra Izbasa has been forced to withdraw from the World Gymnastics Championships due to injury.

The Couch Gymnast reports;

This is very sad news for Romania who, relying on Izbasa’s big scores and consistency, were very much in the running for a team medal.  She also had excellent potential for earning a vault and floor medal while she was at it.

Dana Andrei will replace Sandra as a team member, though potentially as the reserve, while Haidu and Bulimar will be on the team.

Both Prosport and The Romanian Gymnastics Federation have reports, but little more is said than that Izbasa is complaining of foot pain and is being kept out.  It is the same foot she had surgery on.
