ART WCup 2011 SLO logo

Over the next few weeks Nations will begin to announce who will be their representatives at the 2011 World Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo. Those countries who have named their gymnasts can be seen here, in a post that will be frequently updated.A nominative list of teams was also released this week, view this here.  In the run up to the WCh, many countries will take part in warm up competitions. Here is what we have to look forward to ahead of Tokyo.

September 10th: GER V ROU V SUI Friendly, Erzingen, Germany

September 16th  – 18th: Mälarcupen 2011, Stockholm. MAG & WAG Junior & Senior.Official website here.

September 17th – 18th: GBR V ROU V POR WAG Friendly, Newport UK

September 17th: NED V BEL V ESP WAG Friendly, Netherlands.

September 23rd – 25th:   “44TH SALAMUN MEMORIAL” Cat. B Challenger Cup, Slovenia. MAG & WAG.

Those on the nominative list (as of September 2nd) so far who are said to be competing include Fabian Hambuechen (GER), Zhang Hongtao (CHN), Vasiliki Millousi (GRE), Stefani  Bismpiko (GRE), Anthony O’Donnell (IRL), Kieran Behan (IRL) among many others. Slovenia’s own Mitja Petkovsek who most recently won silver on the Parallel Bars at the Ghent World Cup Challenger will also compete

September 9th – 11th will also see the Commonwealth Youth Games taking place on the Isle of Man.
