The odds on Behan

Following Kieran Behan’s Olympic qualification, Europe’s largest bookmaker Paddy Power has released odds on the young gymnast. Website Betting Pro reports:

Kieran’s heart warming story has prompted Paddy Power to also bet 16/1 that he’ll bring out a best selling autobiography in the next four years. The odds on him winning a medal either this year or further down the line in 2016 are 28/1 while it’s 200/1 he’s named Sports Personality of the Year by 2016.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power told Bettingpro:
“Kieran defied all the odds to make his dream come true and qualify for the games so there’s no reason why he can’t defy the odds and win a medal. Either way, he’ll make Ireland very proud.”

The odds currently stand as follows, but have changed since this morning:

It’s highly likely that Behan could be in contention to be nominated or win the National Radio and Television broadcaster, RTE’s, coveted Sports Personality of the Year Award. Previous winners have included athlete Sonia O’Sullivan, rugby star Brian O’Driscoll and golf pro Rory McIlroy.
