Tweet Sandra Izbasa and Flavious Koczi have been named as the best Artistic Romanian gymnasts by the Romanian Gymnastics Federation. The Federation has put both Izbasa and Koczi at the top of the list for 2011.

Tweet The All Around Gymnastics News, The Couch Gymnast and Fan Gymnastics have all reported the unfortunate news this morning that Sandra Izbasa has been forced to withdraw from the World Gymnastics Championships due to injury.
The Couch Gymnast reports;
This is very sad news for Romania who, relying on Izbasa’s big scores and consistency, were very much in the running for a team medal. She also had excellent potential for earning a vault and floor medal while she was at it.

Tweet Another friendly competition will take place this weekend ahead of the World Championships in Tokyo. Romania and Portugal will travel to the UK to compete with the British women at the National Training Centre in Lilleshall. At the same time the MAG British Championships will be going on in Stoke on Trent.
As yet there is only information available on the Romanian Gymnastics Federations website. At Romania’s most recent competition against Germany and Switzerland in Germany, they won the team competition. Ana Porgras came top followed by Amelia Racea, Diana Bulimar …

Tweet The Olympic Floor Champion has begun competing bars once again. She debuted her new bars at the ROM V SUI V GER friendly last weekend. She scored 13.200 which in my opinion isn’t bad for getting it together in such a short space of time.

Tweet Romania and Ana Porgras came out top at this World Championships warm up friendly competition over Germany and Switzerland in Erzinger, Germany yesterday.
This was Germany’s last trial before the selection of their Worlds Team takes place. Sandra Izabasa competed on bars, something that we have not seen in a long time.
A bit of work on it and Izbasa could become an AA gymnast again. Ana Porgras had the highest score at the event, a 15.300 on beam. Catalina Ponor did not compete with the Romanian team but as an individual, …

Tweet Bitang talks to ProSport about the Romanian gymmnastics team, injuries, Worlds and Sandra Izbasa. In the short interview we learn that Diana Bulimar is out injured but aside from that the team are working well, Bitang doesn’t give much away but that the girls are aiming to up their difficulty. Tweet As previously mentioned, the official site of the 2010 World Gymnastics Championships have been featuring regular posts about the gymnasts and teams who will compete in the Worlds later this year.
