Tweet The excitement last night in the North Greenwich Arena was unreal, the British men’s team of Daniel Purvis, Dan Keatings, Louis Smith, Kristian Thomas, Ruslan Panteleymonov and Max Whitlock began on High Bar in top form setting the tone for the evening.  Dan Keatings was first up and there was no way a repeat of Tokyo, in fact after this performance Tokyo is long forgotten. The team nailed 5 strong high bar routines, not a foot out of place on the dismounts. They produced another 5 high quality routines …

Tweet The LOGOC have announced that tickets are still available for the London 2012 Test Event next week. Tickets for Visa International Gymnastics are on sale now, priced from £10 for full price tickets and from £5 for young people and seniors. Tickets are available for men’s and women’s Artistic Gymnastics sessions, as well as for Trampoline.

Tweet Yesterdays MAG British Championships saw Daniel Purvis crowned British Champion for 2011. Today the competition continued The “Masters” competition which brings together the top 8 scorers across the senior, junior and youth competition on each piece of apparatus giving some of the most promising younger gymnast the chance to test themselves against the senior stars. The Juniors really stepped up and grabbed some of the medals that the Seniors really could have won.

Tweet You may notice that Full Twist rarely posts at the weekends, usually only if there is a major competition going on or with some breaking news – my work in the gym can be quite demanding at weekends, taking up all of Saturday and Sunday. Tweet The seniors competed today with Beth Tweddle debuting 2 new routines and scoring 3rd on floor and 1st on bars.

Tweet The MAG British Championships started yesterday. The Seniors competed today with  World Floor bronze medalist Daniel Purvis and Sam Hunter fighting it out for the British Champion title but in the end had settle to share the title. A great achievement for both men. Ruslan Panteleymonov took the bronze.

Tweet The MAG British Championships will take place this weekend, November 5th – 7th in Leicester, UK. Fresh from the Commonwealth Games and World Gymnastics Championships MAG gymnasts Louis Smith, Daniel Purvis, Sam Hunter, Sam Oldham, Reiss Beckford, Luke Folwell and Kristian Thomas will be competing in the event at New College.

Tweet The Men’s teams from Ireland and Great Britain will compete today in Subdivision 3 at 1.30pm. The British Team of Sam Hunter, Louis Smith, Daniel Purvis and Kristian Thomas and the Irish Team of Luke Carson, Kieran Behan and Anthony O’Donnell will compete against teams from Canada, Greece, Qatar and gymnasts from Thailand.

According to Tom Dillon (Head of the Irish Delegation), the team performed well in podium training.

They had a few areas that will be ironed out by competition. Team now focused on last few days training in preparation …

To find out more about Sam Hunter, Louis Smith, Daniel Purvis and Kristian Thomas. I’m really impressed with the amount of information available through FIG and the World Championships 2010 Website. Tweet Team GB are set and ready for Worlds and will be departing for Rotterdam soon for the World Championships. The Teams main aim is to make the top 24 Teams and therefore proceed further to the second round of the Olympic Qualifications, in Tokyo at the 2011 World Championships.
