Tweet After Great Britain’s Men’s team secured their place at the London 2012 Olympics Daniel Keatings described the qualifying competition as a very emotional event. The crowd roared as Team GB secured their place, 7 marks higher than France in second place, and the gymnasts could finally breath a sigh of relief having spent long days in the gym in Lilleshall over the Christmas period.

Tweet The excitement last night in the North Greenwich Arena was unreal, the British men’s team of Daniel Purvis, Dan Keatings, Louis Smith, Kristian Thomas, Ruslan Panteleymonov and Max Whitlock began on High Bar in top form setting the tone for the evening.  Dan Keatings was first up and there was no way a repeat of Tokyo, in fact after this performance Tokyo is long forgotten. The team nailed 5 strong high bar routines, not a foot out of place on the dismounts. They produced another 5 high quality routines …

Tweet The official website for the 2010 Artistic World Championships has posted their second article on how gymnasts across the globe are preparing for the competition later this year. They cover Dutch gymnast Yuri van Gelder, Italian gymnast Igor Cassina, Australian women’s head coach Peggy Liddick, British Gymnastics performance director Eddie van Hoof, Dutch coach Gerben Wiersma about his pupil, Celine van Gerner and German gymnast Oksana Chusovitina. It’s an interesting read and nice to be kept up to date in the run up to the Worlds.
