Tweet I recently purchased Bela Karolyi’s book “Feel No Fear: The Power, Passion & Politics in a life of gymnastics“.It arrived today, I’m really looking forward to reading it although I haven’t yet finished the other book I purchased Vladimir Zaglada’s book “One Coach’s Journey from East to West:  How the Fall of the Iron Curtain Changed the World of Gymnastics”. In saying that I also haven’t finished Monem Jemni’s “The Science of Gymnastics“, it’s heavy reading so I flit in and out of it from time to time.

Tweet As rumored on the Houston Chronicle and Fox 26 Sports on Monday, the Karolyi Ranch has been officially named as a U.S. Olympic Training Site by the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) in conjunction with USA Gymnastics. The new USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center will serve as the official training site for women’s gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, tumbling and acrobatic gymnastics.

Shannon Miller was named AT&T American Cup Honorary Chairperson for 2011. Tickets for the event, taking place in the Florida’s Veterans Memorial Arena (Florida) on March 5th next year went on sale on Wednesday. Shannon and Bela Karolyi were present at the event.
