Price to upgrade for European competitions

The Morning Call has a lengthy article on Elizabeth Price’ upcoming competitions in Europe. The London 2012 Olympic team alternate will be competing in both the Glasgow World Cup and also the Stuttgart World Cup. Parkettes coach Donna Strauss explains why Price is eligible to compete and how great this will be:

“But Ebee [Price] got approval from the FIG because she was a member of the American team, even though it was as a replacement athlete,” Parkettes coach and co-founder Donna Strauss said. “They approved her fast, which was kind of cool. This will be the top international meet she’s been in, and it’s a little different because all the other meets she’s been to have been team competition. This is strictly individual. So, the goal is to finish as high as possible in the all-around.”

“Hopefully, this is the beginning of a great year ahead of her and will culminate with her making the World Championship team next fall,”

Price herself said in the article that her routines will be mostly those competed at the 2012 US Olympic Trials with a few upgrades here and there. She will attend a 4 day verification camp at the Karolyi Ranch next week to show that she is ready for the biggest competitions of her career to date.
