Paul Hamm gets probation

2008 U.S. Olympic Team Media Summit

We all know the story of 2004 All Around Olympic Champion Paul Hamm who was arrested last year for charges of refusing to pay a taxi fare, assault for allegedly kicking a taxi driver and then wrestling with a police officer.  Hamm pleaded no contest to 2 misdemeanors and the assault charges were dropped today when he appeared at Upper Arlington Mayor’s Court.

Today Hamm was sentenced to one year probation. He also was asked to pay the taxi fare and meet with a counselor for an alcohol assessment. He is said to still be working towards the London 2012 Olympics.
