Tweet The Japanese Gymnastics Association has updated their website with a very small bit of news from the 2011 Tokyo Cup. Training was held yesterday and the report says that Australia’s Georgia Rose Brown suffered a finger fracture whilst on beam. The google translation says that she was ok to train safely yesterday but since this is an All Around competition, how will she fair on the other apparatus?

This is the final World Cup event of the year, we will then know who is the FIG World Cup Champion for 2011. Currently Mykola Kuksenkov is in first place and Huang Qiushuang in the WAG competition.
The Men’s field comprises of relatively the same gymnasts we have seen at other World Cups while the Women’s field varies slightly. No doubt this will be another All Around win for three …
Read the full story »Tweet Just a month ago, 2008 Olympic Champion Nastia Liukinannounced her return to gymnastics, in the hopes of competing at the London 2012 Olympics. Announcing her comeback at the 2011 World Championships was seen as a poor choice by many avid gymnastics fans but Liukin revealed her intentions of starting 2-a-day training once the WCh’s were over, focusing on Uneven Bars and Balance Beam. For Liukin this means turning down lucrative deals and appearances and focusing on training.

Read the full story »Tweet The Huffington Post reports that disgraced ex-Olympic Coach Don Peters who was accused of the sexual abuse of two athletes in the 1980′s has been banned for life by USA Gymnastics and has also had his place in the Hall of Fame revoked. Peters was declared “permanently ineligible” after a disciplinary hearing by USA Gymnastics last week.
