Tweet The Chinese ladies will compete tomorrow in subdivision 6, first thing in the morning. Yesterday China announced that Wu Liufang was subbed of the team for the alternate Huang Qiushuang.Below is the line up for the qualification competition:

Tweet Full Twist is continuing to cover and highlight Irish Gymnastics at the 2011 World Championships.  WAG girls Sophie McCoo and Charlotte McKenna competed in subdivision 3 today with Turkey, Austria, Poland, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Vietnam, Puerto Rico and the very exciting Australia. Sophie was competing on just beam whilst Charlotte competed on all four apparatus.

Tweet The official word is out – USA’s Alicia Sacramone has torn her Achilles Tendon. Read the statement from USAG below:
TOKYO, Oct. 7, 2011 – Alicia Sacramone of Winchester, Mass./Brestyan’s American Gymnastics, tore her Achilles tendon yesterday during a tumbling pass at a training session.

Tweet Today has been a big day in training for MAG and WAG gymnasts. Of course it was FULL of drama, lets take a look at the big stories of the day:

Alicia Sacramone will not defend her World Vault title having suffered an Achilles Tendon injury.
Aly Raisman also suffered an injury in training but USAG confirmed that she is fine.
Fabian Hambuchen is set to compete AA in Tokyo.
Mariya Livchikova also suffered an injury, landing badly on Vault.
Wu Liufang has shockingly been named alternate for China.
