Tweet This Women’s All Around Final is hotly anticipated by gymnastics fans worldwide. All eyes will be on USA’s Jordyn Wieber, Russia’s Viktoria Komova and China’s Yao Jinnan, all who are tipped to take the title. Of course there are other gymnasts who are more than capable to have the gold medal around their neck.

Tweet Like every other nation, the USA came to Tokyo with one main aim, to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics, whatever else to come was a bonus. They received a huge bonus yesterday when they won the Women’s Team Final. It was odd, the Americans looked as the Russians did last year as they entered the arena, like they owned those gold World medals before receiving them on the podium two hours later although the US knew it in a more graceful and non-cocky way. Tweet This afternoon China won the 2011 World Gymnastics Championships Men’s Team Final followed by Japan and the USA.  Japan so very narrowly beat the USA to that silver medal, I suspect a lot of scrutiny of Kohei Uchimura’s final routine where he fell on high bar on his Kovacs and also the fact that the judges spent a while deliberating over Tanaka’s and Zhang’s scores also.
