Read the full story »Tweet Singapore Gymnastics has confirmed that Lim Heem Wei has earned a spot at the London 2012 Test Event. It appears that the FIG has informed the gymnastics federations of those who will be eligible to compete in London in January. She placed 103rd in the All Around competition in Tokyo.

Tweet Communication from the FI G today tells us that the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (PRK) has been suspended as a result of a disciplinary breach. No more detail is given but will Korea ever learn? After suffering suspension last year due to age falsification, they should really know better to keep their heads low.

Tweet It has been confirmed by the DTB Pokal Stuttgart World Cup Competition Director, Valery Belinki that the 2010 All Around World Champion Aliya Mustafina will compete at this weekends event. The Russian star will make her comeback just seven months after surgery to repair an ACL tear which she sustained at the 2011 European Championships.
Mustafina saw her Doctor on Tuesday in Germany and was granted permission to compete:

Tweet The Northern Europeans are set to kick off in Uppsala, Sweden this weekend. The event will see both MAG and WAG gymnasts competing from Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Faroe Islands, Denmark, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. The competition will be held from Friday 11th – Sunday 13th November at Fyrishov, Idrottsgatan 2, Uppsala.

Tweet Yet another Swiss gymnast has announced their retirement from the sport of gymnastics. Daniel Groves, a national team member since 2005, is forced to retire due to a knee injury he sustained at the World Championships.
So far this year Switzerland has announced the retirement of both Ariella Kaeslin and Linda Stampfli.

Tweet Geoff Rellis is another Irish gymnast who has made the move to the UK for better training facilities, others include top male gymnasts Luke Carson, Chris O’Connor and Kieran Behan.
