Full Twist has been keeping an eye on the FIG website on the look out for news on the teams for the World Championships to continue adding to our list in the post “A Nation Decided“. A nominative list has been released with many countries listing teams.
Most countries have not officially released the names of their team members but the nominative lists might give us an idea. The USA Team is the most interesting. We have listed the teams that we think that gymnastics fans will be most interested in.

I am surprised that Shawn Johnson was left off given her performance at VISA’s. But she may just need more time for her floor routine at this point. I hope she is able to make a comeback.
I think memmel or shawn should be a reserve because they are dependable veterans over vega. I also think that Ann Li is very risky even though she has a good bar set , I would like to see girls who can contribute in more events.
I’m kinda worried about Anna at the moment. She has a well put together bar routine, but seems to miss a skill here or there that can cost her and possibly the team total. But giving that this isn’t the official list I’m not entirely worried. Especially at the fact that the first selection camp just started, so between now and the 2nd one many things can change. I think that Shawn or Chellsie may end up on the team if they can hit, hit, hit at the selection camps. They could be a reserve, or Chellsie could take Anna’s spot because she can contribute to more then just on event, and Shawn could be the reserve. There are so many different things that can happen so it’s hard to say.
Hi,
I was so upset when I read from off Chinagymnastics blog, regarding the nominative team China for the 2011 World Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo (Oct).
Yang Yilin was not on the list (she wasn’t even a reserve).
Does anyone know what happened? I want to know so bad. I was really hoping that she’d make the team, and became so sad when I didn’t see her name.
Please don’t get me wrong, I truely admire all gymnasts for their hard work and dedication, I guess I just had really high hopes for Yang Yilin, as I had seen her compete (via YouTube) in the Japan not too long ago, and she seemed to be travelling along really well.
I would truely appreciate any help =)
