Yesterday, the Russian Gymnasts website (also featured on Tatiana Nabievas website) issued the original nominative entries for the Moscow World Cup in their newsletter which featured the likes of Beth Tweddle, Alicia Sacramone and Rebecca Bross to name just a few. USA Gymnastics confirmed that neither Bross or Sacramone will be competing in Moscow.
The FIG have today released the new nominative entries for the Moscow World Cup due to take place May 13th and 14th. View it here.Despite having 87 gymnasts competing from 35 countries many of the names listed in the original nominative list have not accepted the invitation to compete at the event, what a pity.
The big names competing will feature Sandra Izbasa, Diana Maria Chelaru, Jessica Lopez, Jade Fernandes Barbosa, Tatiana Nabieva, Yana Demyanchuk, Oskana Chusovitina, Ana Porgras, Lauren Mitchell, Anna Dementyeva and Elisabeth Seitz. None of the British girls will compete, they have just returned from a 2 weeks recovery camp in Mexico.
The Men’s competition is looking very “hot” (as the FIG describe it!) with Daniel Purvis, Epke Zonderland, Krisztian Berki, Thomas Bouhail, Eleftherios Kosmidis, Louis Smith, Flavius Koczi,Alexander Shatilov, Cyril Tommasone, Rafel Martinez and Prasanth Sellathurai all featuring in the Men’s competition.
It’s a pity that some of the top names will not compete such as the Chinese, the Americans and girls from Great Britain. View the FIGs report on the event here.
