Madeline Gardiner named Cambridge Athlete of the Year

Canadian Gymnast Madeline Gardiner has been named Cambridge Athlete of the Year. Madeline was chosen amongst a group of nominees that included  athletes in sports such as cross-country skiing, martial arts, cycling and water skiing.

The gymnast is on the Canadian National team and is being tipped as one of the gymnasts who may represent Canada in the 2012 Olympics. She recently competed in the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Madeline finished in 13th place all around and qualified vault, bars and beam event finals. Although not competing in the beam final due to injury, she competed well finishing 5th on vault an 8th on bars.
