Louis Smith scored a 16.375 (7.1 D score / 9.28 E score) today at the British Championships Event finals. A higher score than his own and Krisztian Berki’s score at MAG Europeans in Montpellier in May, both only performed a 6.9 D score routine here. Smith qualified in first position yesterday to the Pommel final with a 6.9 start valued routine, earning 16.200.
After today’s score, Smith beats Australia’s Prasanth Sellethurai’s highest score of competition so far this season which was 16.200 according to The All Around’s MAG Best Scores. however Smith competed a 7.0 start valued routine in Tokyo yet placed 3rd. Louis, hoping to secure his place on the Olympic team also competed on High Bar and Parallel Bars yesterday in the All Around competition.
