Since finishing Letters to a Young Gymnast, I have started reading “Little Girls in Pretty Boxes” by Joan Ryan.  It is written about the “making and breaking of elite gymnasts and figure skaters”. So far it’s an ok read although I find myself skipping through the pages about the figure skaters as I’m not all that interested in that. I’m taking it all with a pinch of salt and not getting too caught up in the extremes some of the girls went to attempt to achieve their dreams.
