Prosport interviewed up and coming Romanian gymnast Larissa Iordache recently. She is nicked named the “New Nadia” at only age 14. At 5 and a half, she was noticed in an amusement park by coach Mariana Silişteanu who invited her to come along to the gym.
In 2010, Larissa placed 5th in the junior individuals at the European Championships in Birmingham, placing behind Anastasia Grishina and Victoria Komova. At Europeans she won gold on floor, silver on beam and silver All Around, the Romanian Juniors also grabbed the silver team medal.
Larissa speaks to Prosport about London 2012, the 2010 Europeans and gymnastics in general. She is very optimistic about London 2012 and has high hopes, considering she will only turn 16 just two months before the Games kick off. It’s a nice short interview. Check it out on Prosport, Google Chrome will translate it into English for you.
Prosport also presented her with an award, maybe someone can clarify what exactly the name of the award is?

Larisa is the “Prosport`s Bet” for the 2012 Olympics. That was the award she received.
