Imogen Cairns replaces Danusia Francis

We were the first blog to report last night that Imogen Cairns name appeared on the starting list for Team GB for the qualifiers today. British Gymnastics have finally given us a reason for Cairns making the team.

“We had a Team of 7 very strong gymnasts selected for Rotterdam of which Imogen was initially chosen as the Nominative Reserve. Having taken into account Imogen’s Commonwealth Games performance and confidence levels on the back of this, we felt she would add to the Team performance as we look to create the most in form Team to get the best results.”

Fantastic news for Cairns, a pity that she had to prove herself. She’s a fabulous gymnast. In other news, Nicolle Hibbert will replace Becky Downie on floor today as Downie is ill.  More from British Gymnastics. Thanks to Ollie William’s for his speedy tweets!
