Paul Hamm arrested

USA’s Paul Hamm was arrested for assault. Hamm is accused of assaulting an Ohio taxi driver after an argument. The Police report  states that he fell asleep and when the driver woke him up he said he would not pay the $23.00 cab fare, he also hit the driver in the mouth with his elbow. Hamm is due in court on September 15th after posting bail on account of three charges, assault, criminal damaging and for not paying for a service. Gymnastics Examiner has the full story. Unfortunately there is also a video showing the an intoxicated Hamm arguing with Police Officers.

Vote for Jordyn Wieber and Danell Leyva

Gymnastics fans are being called to vote for this years VISA Champions Jordyn Wieber and Danell Leyva as USOC’s athletes of the month for August. Fans can help determine the award winners by voting in a Twitter poll, which counts for 10 percent of the final award. Nastia Liukin

Nastia Liukin is off to London as part of the team USA Britain Bound tour. The aim of the tour is to bring their fans the inside scoop on the host nation prior to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. They’ll travel by plane, train and car to explore Olympic venues and enjoy the best attractions and experiences Britain has to offer.

From September 12th to 16th Liukin will get a personal tour of Buckingham Palace (seeing Duchess Catherine’s wedding gown up close and personal), visit the 2012 Olympics gymnastics venue, take a Cockney rhyming slang lesson in a London black cab, visit the famous Centre Court at Wimbledon and  conduct a gymnastics clinic with local school children.
