Favourite Routines
Everybody involved with gymnastics has their favourite routines from the competitions and events over the years. Below are some of mine. I have chosen some performances from the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Every so often, I hope to show you my favourite routines from the past.
My parents recorded the gymnastics from Atlanta on VCR for me to watch, over the months and years after the games, I watched the routines time and time again, hoping that some day I could be like those gymnasts. These three floor routines I have chosen by Lilia Podkopaeyva , Simona Amanar and Dominique Moceanu (placed on floor 1st, 2nd and 4th consecutively) are performances I thoroughly enjoyed watching, not only for their spectacular floor work but because the music really added something and made them much more exciting and entertaining. European Mens Artistic Team Championships

The UEG have announced nominative entries for the 29th European Championships in mens artistic gymnastics. The competition is to be held from April 21st to 25th in Birmingham, UK.

Floor routines…. oooh, there are quite a few.
I love Andreea Raducan’s 1999 and 2000 routines. Her music in 2000 was better, but I like her 1999 choreography more.
Anna Pavlova 2008… Ekatarina Lobaznyuk 2000… Svetlana Khorkina 2000… both Ksenias at Euros this year.
I love Irina Baraksanova’s 1985 routine. My gosh, there are a lot.

My “all-time” favorite is Aurelia Dobre’s FX from 87, Worlds. I don’t know what it is about that routine, but I simply never get bored of watching it.

One of my recent favorites is Pang Panpan in 2006. Her floor routine in the all around at the World Championships was just aweseome. Also Elena Produnova in 2000. Her routine in team finals was breathtaking.
Those are pretty well known, but great nonetheless.
