Following the conclusion of the Artistic Gymnastics competition at the London 2012 Olympic Games, 24 year old Catalina Ponor called time on her gymnastics career. The five time Olympic medalist said that she leaves the sport with no regrets.
Now, following her return to Romania, Ponor has told reporters that she may delay her retirement until 2013 to seek what she deems to be left to achieve in her career – a world title. She last won silver on Beam and Floor at the 2003 World Championships as well as a silver Team medal.
Ponor will take a well earned holiday and will then make a decision on her future. Watch this space.
