I think the comments in the des moines register are telling of tension between shawn and chow. She was mad last year when he said she would be at classics and she had not announced yet (and really did not seem to want to be there in the end). He has said he was not involved in the decision for her to go to michael johnson’s and he did not agree with it. She has said repeatedly that she will be at nationals, I think she will be there. I think chow does not agree with her skipping camp and classics.

I do not, however, think she will make the team. I want her to, and I think she ha the talent and skills, but she is going to play it too safe. She has already said she does not have the difficulty she had in Beijing. The sport has progressed, she cannot do less than she did four year’s ago and expect to be successful And, if her goal is to be the queen of consistency, skipping camp and classics is not helpful because now she only has two opportunities to show she is consistant.

As for the Beijing all around, I never understand why she hints that it was devastating. Everyone knew going in that if Nastia and Shawn both hit, Nastia wins. She bet her gold medal on someone else missing, not her hitting, and she lost. I would much rather be in control of my own destiny than bet on someone else missing.

saying that she is uncomfortable with her body is just a joke, people are only speculating this because the media is obsessing over the fact she lost 25 pounds when was shaping back into her olympic form. Seriously like people need to leave her alone she probably had another interview and could not make the leo shoot!!

I found that the Italian channel rai sport 1, which is also available online, covered the women’s competition, not just highlights, shortly after the competition finished. I’d imagine they do similar for the men…unless of course bbc covers it live..

Any news on why BBC decided to cancel all their coverage? I watched so much boring rugby and racing trying to see it. I’m so glad I don’t have to waste my money on a BBC licence fee.
It’s a real shame because Hannah Whelan did very well. Is she the first Brit to get 2 apparatus medals in a major championships?

simply put the Russian had a very bad injury and she needs time to recover. Lots of gymnasts have injuries and it can happen to anyone and often does. GB has had plenty of injuries and the gymnasts competing now are the lucky ones. This does not mean Russia does anything wrong ,it means they were unlucky for their talent to be injured
