Back in October it was confirmed that BBC were to commission a gymnastics reality tv show. Today it was announced that “Tumble” will be broadcast this summer with two time Olympic gymnast Louis Smith and five time Olympic medallist Nadia Comaneci acting as judges. Also joining them on the judging panel will be Comonwealth Games gold medalist Craig Heap and reknowned choreographer and aerialist Sebastien Stella. Acting as a mentor is Britain’s most successful female gymnast Beth Tweddle.
According to Digital Spy, over 6 weeks of live shows on Prime time Saturday night television, 10 celebrities will be challenged to tumbling, double trapeze, acrobatics gymnastics and trampolining. Head Judge Nadia Comaneci told Digital Spy:
“I know what it’s like to strive for that perfect 10! Your heart is pounding and your palms are sweaty, but when you step out onto that floor, or mount the bars or beam, you have to perform like your life depends on it.
“The celebrities are going to be put through a fitness, gymnastic and acrobatic training regime that’s like nothing they’ll ever have experienced, and I can’t wait to see the results!”
