According to International Gymnast, the Chinese Worlds teams has been confirmed by the Chinese Gymnastics Association. They are said to be as follows:
- Chen Yibing
- Teng Haibin
- Feng Zhe
- Zhang Chenglong
- Lu Bo
- Guo Weiyang
- Zou Kai (alternate)
- Jiang Yuyuan
- He Kexin
- Sui Lu
- Tan Sixin
- Wu Liufang
- Yao Jinnan
- Huang Qiushuang (alternate)
So how do these names compare to the nominative list
that was announced earlier this week? Well, the WAG team has not changed. Deng Linlin
is nowhere to be seen and Qiushuang
is still listed as the reserve. 2008 Olympic Gold medalist He Kexin
is named again in this years Worlds Team. I wonder why was Qiushuang not named. The last year hasn’t quite been for her, at the 2010 World Championships in Rotterdam she won a bronze team medal and came fourth in the all-around. She qualified in second for the uneven bars final, but came sixth due to a fall. At the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, Q won team gold and also on vault, and silver medals in the all-round and on bars. She was due to compete at a few different competitions since then but has pulled out. John from the Chinese Gymnastics blog
, considered her a lock for the Worlds team. At the Internal Test competition some weeks ago, Q attempted an Amanar but fell. Another test competition was held in August where she had placed second. Maybe she has become pretty inconsistent and cannot be counted on. It’s a pity that she has been named as an alternate but there are some pretty amazing gymnasts named in the team. Rumour has it that the Chinese Coach Lu Shanzhen
has said that Deng Linlin
or Yang Yilin
could be added to the list at last minute, it could happen that there will be changes. Fans are worried that it would be Wu Liufang
who could be sacrificed.
The rumour mill is also saying that this is in fact not the definitive Worlds Team. Apparently there is another Internal competition on September 17th to decide the teams.

These confirmed team lists have been added to the post “A Nation Decided” for those who have confirmed the gymnasts to represent them at Worlds.
