Dominique Moceanu tweeted a link to this – a “Gymnastics Cruise“. It’s a week long cruise stopping at Texas, Cayman Islands, Jamaica and Mexico. From the prices it looks like the cheapest you would pay for it is just under $1,500 .

Poor Olivia Curran, only days before competing she has had to withdraw from the Commonwealth Games. Olivia tore her ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) whilst training on bars on Wednesday. What a pity. Olivia is obviously gutted, she deferred going to University to qualify for the Commonwealth Games, she tells the BBC;
“I’ve been doing gymnastics since I was three. I went to the Commonwealth Youth Games when I was 13 and that really opened my eyes to big competition,” she added.

BBC will show Gymnastics events from the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, broadcasting is scheduled to begin at the below times. Note that there will be highlights and live coverage so the times will not be exact and also other sports are included in the program time. The gymnastics coverage will be shown at some time during the scheduled program. I’d suggest Sky +ing or taping if you’re afraid of missing anything.

Shannon Miller was named AT&T American Cup Honorary Chairperson for 2011. Tickets for the event, taking place in the Florida’s Veterans Memorial Arena (Florida) on March 5th next year went on sale on Wednesday. Shannon and Bela Karolyi were present at the event.

Artistic Gymnastics will take place from the 4th to the 8th of October
Rhythmic Gymnastics will take place from the 12th – 14th October

Like Shawn Johnson in the USA, Beth Tweddle has joined the campaign in the UK to highlight the benefits of drinking milk. It’s similar the campaign in the USA, celebs and idols lending a hand to promote something good.

Gator’s gymnast Marissa King is said to be out of the Commonwealth Games. The English gymnast has apparently has a slight tear in her left pectoral muscle meaning that she needs rest and won’t heal in time for the Commonwealth Games.
“This is a disappointment for Marissa because she was so looking forward to representing England at the Commonwealth Games,” UF Head Coach Rhonda Faehn said. “She needs to just take some time off so this injury can heal.”
