Tweet Full Twist was contacted by a Gym Mom from the UK this week. She was delighted to see that Full Twist had highlighted the new and upcoming talent on the UK gymnastics scene. Recently we posted about British U12 Champion Ellie Downie, yesterday about Rebecca Tunney and last year about Catherine Lyons. All gymnasts hope to represent Great Britain in the near future at Olympic level and are showing great talent.

Tweet The Elite Gym Massilia competition also took place last weekend. Tatiana Nabieva, Ksenia Afanaseyeva, and Ksenia Semyonova headlined the event and took the gold.

Tweet The Chinese continued their winning streak in the Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus Finals today. China won gold and silver in both the Men’s and Women’s competition. The FIG have a report here. View the results here or below.

Tweet The Chinese women took the gold medal at this weekends Womens Team Final at the Asian Games.

Tweet The Canadian Sports Hall of Fame are had their annual induction ceremony yesterday evening at Calgary’s Hyatt Hotel, and three Olympians were honored including gymnast Kyle Shewfelt.

Shewfelt told the Vancouver Sun:

Tweet Ellie Downie is Great British Team Member Becky Downie’s younger sister. At 11 years old she is the British U12 champion. Ellie’s coach Claire Starkey at Notts Gym Club thinks that Ellie is just as talented as her older sister and feels that if Ellie continues to work as well as she has that it’s a strong possibility that she could compete in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, maybe even with Becky if she continues to compete in her 20′s like Beth Tweddle. Tweet Canadian Gymnast Madeline Gardiner has been named Cambridge Athlete of the Year. Madeline was chosen amongst a group of nominees that included  athletes in sports such as cross-country skiing, martial arts, cycling and water skiing.

The gymnast is on the Canadian National team and is being tipped as one of the gymnasts who may represent Canada in the 2012 Olympics. She recently competed in the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Tweet Further to our post yesterday regarding the warning issued by the UKAD regarding the substance Methylhexaneamine, the World Anti-Doping Agency has released an update list of prohibited substances. The WADA has included a new section called the Non Approved Substances, this addresses the abuse of pharmacological substances  which are under pre-clinical or clinical development or discontinued.
