Tweet Nine years ago as he sat in a wheelchair, doctors told Kieran Behan it was likely he might never walk again, let alone perform gymnastics – today he qualified for the Olympics, the first Irish man to do so in almost 16 years. Today Behan made history, becoming the first Irish man to qualify straight through to the Olympics. Barry McDonald was previously the first and only Irish gymnast to do so in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympics by means of a wildcard.
Behan competed at the All Around Men’s …

Tweet A lot of the Full Twist fan base comes from Ireland according to Google Analytics so as a treat, we made a special effort to follow Kieran Behan throughout last nights subdivision 3. It’s official that Kieran qualified in 6th place on Floor last night and has secured a place in Thursdays floor final. Rumors say that he has qualified through to the Olympics but this has not at all been confirmed by the FIG, yet. This rumor is through means of media and bloggers in the arena who …

Tweet The excitement last night in the North Greenwich Arena was unreal, the British men’s team of Daniel Purvis, Dan Keatings, Louis Smith, Kristian Thomas, Ruslan Panteleymonov and Max Whitlock began on High Bar in top form setting the tone for the evening.  Dan Keatings was first up and there was no way a repeat of Tokyo, in fact after this performance Tokyo is long forgotten. The team nailed 5 strong high bar routines, not a foot out of place on the dismounts. They produced another 5 high quality routines …

It was an agonizing 3 rotations wait to find out if he had qualified for the floor final on Thursday, and that’s what he did. He says:
“I went …

Tweet It’s day one here at the O2 Arena / North Greenwich Arena, the set up is fantastic. Gymnova are supplying the equipment so the usual red and cream brand colours look excellent, against the pink VISA carpets, not so much but all the same the set up is great.
Remember, the top 4 teams of the day will qualify to the Olympic Games in the Summer. The top 24 All Around gymnasts will also qualify, if their country has not already secured a place at the Games. Only one per …

So far podium training has been taking place, MAG was Sunday and WAG today. The Spanish …
