Tweet Irish MAG gymnasts Rohan Sebastian, Kieran Behan and Luke Carson began Podium Training today. Rick from Gymnastics Coaching has been keeping a close eye on the boys for us where the guys plans were to go through their routines cleanly and quickly. He chatted to briefly to Luke and Kieran before the session. They were up on floor first, Behan receiving only minor deductions and one out of bounds, overall Rick called it a “very clean”. Blythe from the Gymnastics Examiner describes it as

Tweet Today was officially the second day of podium training for the gymnasts in Tokyo. Training began early at 8am and lasted right through until 9.30pm. Tweet Anne from Gymnastike reports that Romania’s Catalina Ponor may be injured;
I walked into the Romanian’s training session to find the girls training beam as usual, but Catalina Ponor was off to the side getting her ankle/foot checked out by team trainers. She left the training session armed with an ice bag and a team trainer by her side and spoke with meet officials and what must be the on-site trainer. It does not appear to be serious as she was able to walk out of the arena without a limp.

Tweet Martha Karolyi and the National Team staff have confirmed the alternate for the USA WAG Team in Tokyo. Anna Li has suffered an abdominal strain and so has been named as the alternate.
Since the Worlds team was named 2 weeks ago, it was always said that bringing Li to Tokyo was a risk, despite her massive scoring potential on bars. Perhaps Li was brought knowing she had an injury and it was a possibility she might have to withdraw, in that case Gabby Douglas would definitely be needed to …

Tweet The All Around has gone to an awful lot of trouble and hard work to predict who may be the Worlds Women’s AA Champion, Team Champions and Event Final Champions. The All Around has based this on scores collected throughout the year.
With all the scores we have studied three different situations:
Average: We averaged all the scores of the gymnasts, this way we can see their scoring potential and their consistency.
Highest: We took the highest score of each gymnast.
Lowest: We took the lowest score of each gymnast.
As any prediction method, this one has …
