Tweet I saw esteemed FIG photographer Eileen Langlsey around the arena a lot last week. Langsley is fantastic photographer, she really captures great images during gymnastics events especially. Langsley was working at the Test Event last week in preparation for her 13th Olympic Games. Yesterday she took to her blog to post some images of the British Men’s gymnastics team during their qualification competition. She discusses how it was to work in the North Greenwich Arena itself:

Tweet Eileen Langsley is a fantastic photographer , covering twelve Olympic Games during her 30 + years as a photographer – 17 of those years were spent chronicling gymnastics on film as the official photographer for the FIG.
Eileen recently wrote an article for Official Publication of the International Sports Press Association titled ” The End of an Era – The golden age of sports photography is no longer with us”. Tweet Eileen Langsley was recently inducted into the International Gymnast Hall Of Fame when she was presented with the International Order of Merit award. From 1984-2001 she chronicled gymnastics on film as the official photographer for the FIG. You can read more into Eileen’s background here.

Tweet FIG posted an update on the website regarding the five gymnastics legends who are to be honoured by the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame this year. The former gymnasts are Cathy Rigby, Henrietta Onodi, Yuri Korolev, Mikhail Voronin and Eileen Langsley. What do you think of these inductees?
