Japan’s Koji Yamamuro will not compete in today’s Men’s All Around final despiting qualifying in 17th place last weekend. During Monday’s Men’s Team Final, where Japan controversially claimed the silver medal, Yamamuro sustained an injury to his foot. whilst attempting a Randi vault. He has been forced to withdraw from the AA competition allowing China’s Guo Weiyang into the final. Guo Weiyang was drafted into the Chinese team following the withdrawal of team mate Teng Haibin who did not compete due to injury. Surprisingly, Guo will not be competing, nor will Stepan Gorbachev of Kazakhstan – both have for some reason chosen not to compete in AA. Flavius Koczi also appears to have withdrawn. That leaves third reserve Jimmy Verbaeys of belgium will slip into the AA final.
Confusing!
