ESPN reports the Brazilian Rhythmic gymnast Eduarda Mello Querioz has been involved in a fatal car crash. The 17- year- old, who finished second at this years National Championships, was apparently not wearing her seat belt. Fellow gymnast 19-year-old Natalia Gaudio was also involved in the crash but has sustained minor injuries.
Thoughts are with the family, friends and team mates of Eduarda and Natalia, and of course to the driver who is in a serious condition in hospital. Please, please always wear a seatbelt.
