On the back of Amelia Racea’s retirement announcement last week, it has come to light that Romania’s Diana Maria Chelaru is somewhat undecided about her future in the sport of gymnastics. The article from Pro Sport, originally posted on Facebook, states that whilst Chelaru has not retired, she is no longer training with the National Team and has returned to train at her home gym in Onesti. Apparently Chelaru has been finding it difficult to keep up with training with the National Team and is trying to decide whether continue in gymnastics or not. The hope is that the gymnast, who won bronze with her team at the London Olympic Games, will take some time to relax and get her head together back in Onesti, without making a rash decision.
Chelaru was scheduled to compete at both the upcoming Swiss Cup and Arthur Gander Memorial which now looks unlikely.
