Cairns for 2012?

It’s a possibility. In this short interview Great Britain’s Imogen Cairns tells how she will take a short break from training and keep trying for 2012 but knows that the road ahead might be tough with new and up coming talent catching up on the current Team GB stars. She also spoke last month about 2012.

“There’s no point in me retiring at the moment because I’m at my peak,” Cairns told BBC Points West.

“It’s going to be a hard road but I’m going to try [for 2012].”

Cairns continued: “They’re only going to pick five people for that team and we’ve got all the young ones coming through which is going to be tough but we’ll see.”

Imogen seems like a genuinely lovely girl, someone that you could interview easily and would be great fun. It’s great that she’s feeling like she’s in the best shape of her life since she’s had a tough few years. I’m also delighted that for once I could view a gymnastics video on the BBC website!!
