Esteemed sports photographer Eileen Langsley has released a new book to coincide with Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
I am pleased to announce that, just in time for the Queen’s Jubilee and the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games, I have published a new large format photographic book titled ‘British Gymnastics – The Road to 2012’.
During my thirty five years of involvement with British Gymnastics I have always intended that at some stage I would create a tribute book which would publicise the great work and achievements of our gymnasts and coaches during my period of photography. In keeping with Olympic year, this book focuses on the Olympic disciplines of Gymnastics (men’s and women’s Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline). It is a large format (12”x12”), 120 page book with 485 photographs – colour and black and white. Whilst there are pages featuring gymnasts from the past, the main focus is on the current generation of stars and their preparations for the 2012 Olympics are recorded in a chapter with unique behind the scenes training images.
Eileen provides sample images from the book which include some spectacular shots. Photographs are as recent as the Men’s European Championships in Montpellier 2 weeks ago.
The book can be purchased here for €115.75 or the iPad / iPhone version for significantly less at €11.89.
