By now everyone is aware of the growing concern over the condition of the Athletes Village and the Sports Arenas for the Commonwealth Games. Vladimir Chertkov the Head Coach of the Indian Gymnastics team has spoken out about the state of the athletes village. Coach Chertkov said:

Gator’s gymnast Marissa King is said to be out of the Commonwealth Games. The English gymnast has apparently has a slight tear in her left pectoral muscle meaning that she needs rest and won’t heal in time for the Commonwealth Games.
“This is a disappointment for Marissa because she was so looking forward to representing England at the Commonwealth Games,” UF Head Coach Rhonda Faehn said. “She needs to just take some time off so this injury can heal.”

Tweet Paul Hall the English gymnastics coach has announced that the English gymnasts are still set to travel to Dehli despite the events that have unfolded over the past couple of days.
We’ve had competitions in some quite difficult, challenging countries and our gymnasts have been able to cope with that, so it’s just another competition for us
In the last hour, the Welsh team have announced that they still intend to travel to the Games next week.

This week, British Artistic Gymnastics Teams invited the media to an open training session to showcase new multi-million pound facilities at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. With the upgrade costing a huge £3.5 million, British Gymnastics hopes it will help boost Britain’s success in the London 2012 Olympics.
